This NW institution has long demonstrated the creativity and effectiveness of local and state government to originate, refine and bring to life the critical policy tool of extended producer responsibility. David Stitzhal is proud to have been present at the Council’s creation and to have coined its name. Numerous Product Stewardship Councils now exist in North America and Australia. David served as the NWPSC’s Coordinator for its first fifteen years, and on its behalf staffed numerous product-specific subcommittees, testified before legislative committees, helped develop policy and legislative positions, and built robust and diverse stakeholder relationships.
