Full Circle — in concert with Triangle Associates — assisted the City with issues regarding effluent from vehicle washing reaching storm drains. This work included David Stitzhal designing and facilitating a meeting between the Public Works Director, the Fire Chief and other City staff. The goal was to move toward non-polluting, best management practices for washing fire trucks and to track drain outfalls. We also designed and implemented a survey to analyze public practices and perceptions around home car washing, and built on the results to design and hold a focus group of residents. Project deliverables included developing a model to estimate the scale and impact of residential car washing on surface water in Bothell.
